Rein in the ordinary and find your stride…
BEGINNERS
This is a riding lesson as well as a scenic tour over 10km on our own purpose built property, one of the largest privately owned parcels of native forest in Western Victoria.
We cater for all levels in one trip, promoting English and Australian riding techniques, all while enjoying pristine scenery. This 900 acre property has been purpose built for a truly unique and personal experience.
Tranquility ensures with the noticeable absence of cars, bush walkers or motor bikes... just you, freedom and a horse!
WHAT TO EXPECT
You are 80% of our business and for many of you it's your first time!
We give you some material to read, select a suitable plodder for you, mount you up using some mounting steps and show you how to steer and stop. We give you a five minute pre-brief about where everything is and how it works, while mounted and stationary.
We head off at the walk encouraging you to test the controls then we stop after 1km to teach you how to do the rising trot.
We practice this in bite size easy sections and after two hours (if not much sooner) you should have developed the independent seat.
This means you can comfortably and confidently control the horse by yourself.
We don’t usually let you go to a canter in your first lesson.
“This is more than just your average riding centre… We had a group of four riders from absolute beginner to rusty old keen 'wanna be' and all thoroughly beamed after our ride!”
